Hahoe Folk Village

Hahoe Folk Village is located in Andong City, South Korea. It has been the concentrated residence of the Yeo family for over 600 years and is still home to more than a hundred households. The village nestles in a scenic river valley, with the Naktong River meandering in an S shape around it.

There are 458 buildings in the village. It features both tiled houses of the nobility from the Joseon Dynasty and thatched houses of commoners and servants, earning it the title of "Living Museum of Joseon Architecture". It is also the birthplace of the famous Korean Hahoe masks. As an important tangible and intangible cultural heritage of South Korea, Hahoe Village in Andong, along with Yangdong Village in Gyeongju, was inscribed on the World Heritage List on July 31, 2010, under the name "Historic Villages of Korea".
