Yakcheonsa Temple

The Yakcheonsa Temple is located in Daepo-dong, Seogwipo City, Jeju Province, South Korea, very close to the coastline. It is not an ancient temple with a history of a thousand years, but a newly built one, which was first constructed in 1960. The temple is named Yakcheonsa because there is a spring within it that continuously flows and has therapeutic effects.

This Buddhist temple is free to visit. One of its major features is that on the second floor, there are over 80,000 Buddha statues of various types, protected by glass, presenting a spectacular sight.

The temple was built in the architectural style of early Korean Buddhism. The main hall inside covers an area of over 2,000 square meters, and just in terms of the Buddha hall, it is the largest in Asia. This place is not only a temple for Buddhist believers to worship but also a destination for tourists to visit and make wishes.
