Manjanggul Cave, also called The Bottomless Cave, is a component of the UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site "Jeju Volcanic Island and Lava Tubes" and is one of the largest lava tubes in the world. According to official data, Manjanggul Cave was formed by lava from the eruption of Mount Halla and is 7,416 meters long. The temperature inside the cave remains between 11 and 21 degrees Celsius throughout the year.
On the inner walls of the cave, one can clearly see the lines formed by the flow of lava, and the ground is formed by the solidification of lava. It is recommended to pay attention to the surrounding environment and details during the visit. Compared to other caves around the world, Manjanggul Cave has remained in its original state for hundreds of thousands of years, which is very rare in the world. Walking through the cave, one can imagine the scene of lava flowing so many years ago.
Due to safety and management issues, currently only one kilometer of the cave is open to tourists. At the end of this one-kilometer stretch, visitors can see the world's largest basaltic rock column, which is 7.6 meters high. This is also one of the most important attractions of the cave.
