Korean Folk Village

The Korean Folk Village is located in Yongin City, between Suwon City and Yongin City in Gyeonggi-do Province. It is very close to Suwon City, almost in its suburbs. It is less than 50 kilometers from the center of Seoul, and the transportation is very convenient.

The Korean Folk Village, also known as Yongin Folk Village, covers an area of about 99 hectares and is a popular tourist attraction for both Koreans and foreign visitors. It gathers various types of buildings from all over Korea, such as farmhouses, shops, workshops, temples, noble residences and government offices. There are a total of 240 traditional buildings preserved in the village, which vividly reproduce the culture and lifestyle of different social classes in the Joseon Dynasty over 500 years ago on the Korean Peninsula, and present the historical and cultural landscape and regional customs of Korea.

Nowadays, the goods in the shops and open-air markets in the folk village are mostly local traditional handicrafts and specialty foods, and there are wonderful folk performances every day.
