Bukchon Hanok Village

Bukchon Hanok Village is located between Gyeongbokgung Palace and Changdeokgung Palace. It is a place where traditional Korean houses are densely concentrated and is the most representative traditional residential area in Seoul. It is also filled with historical sites, cultural heritages and folk materials. Therefore, it is called a street museum in the city center.

The current Bukchon is not a folk village built for tourists to visit, but a village where people actually live. There are a total of more than 900 Korean houses. With the entry of Korean house galleries, traditional workshops, Korean house restaurants and so on, it has become a new cultural and artistic area that attracts much attention. Here, you can also visit popular and highly praised museums such as the Gahoe Museum, the Han Sang-soo Embroidery Museum and the Korean Buddhist Art Museum, which are dedicated to Korean traditional culture.
