Deoksugung Palace ( Kerean:덕수궁 ) was originally the residence of the emperor's elder brother of the Joseon Dynasty and later became one of the royal palaces. It was officially renamed Deoksugung Palace in 1907.
Covering an area of 18,635 square meters, multiple Western-style palaces were built in 1909. It is the only palace in Seoul that combines Eastern and Western architectural styles, featuring key historical buildings such as the main hall, Jeonghyeonjeon Hall, and Gwangmyeongmun Gate. The palace also houses the Royal Museum of the Joseon Dynasty and the Deoksugung Art Museum.
Deoksugung Palace is across the street from Gyeongbokgung Palace, making it very convenient for tourists to visit both.
