Day 1  Fukuoka to Yufuin

Upon arriving in Fukuoka, your journey kicks off. Then, you'll head to the charming Yufuin Onsen Town. Here, you can relax in the warm, natural hot springs, surrounded by beautiful mountain scenery. The town is also filled with unique shops, cafes, and restaurants, offering a blend of local culture and relaxation.

After that, visit Lake Kinrinko, a scenic body of water in Yufuin. The lake is famous for its mirror - like surface that reflects the surrounding landscape, especially during the early morning when the mist hovers over the water. It's a perfect spot for a peaceful stroll and to capture some stunning photos.

Day 2  Yufuin to Beppu to Fukuoka

Upon arriving in Beppu, your exciting journey begins. First, head to Mount Tsurumi, where you can enjoy a panoramic view of the city and the surrounding sea. The hiking trails offer a great opportunity to get close to nature.

Next, visit the Steam Cooking Center. Here, you can taste unique local cuisine cooked by the natural steam, experiencing a special way of cooking.

Then, explore the amazing geothermal wonders. Shiraike Jigoku, with its pure white, milky - colored hot spring water, presents a magical sight. Chinoike - Jigoku, a deep red - colored hot spring pond, is a visual feast. Umi Jigoku, a large blue - colored hot spring, resembles a beautiful sea, leaving you in awe of nature's creativity. This journey combines natural beauty, unique culinary experiences, and geothermal wonders, making it an unforgettable adventure.

Day 3  Fukuoka Highlights

Your exploration in Fukuoka starts at Ohori Park, a large urban park with a beautiful central lake. Here, you can enjoy a peaceful stroll, admire the well - maintained gardens, and rent a boat to relax on the water.

Next, visit the Fukuoka Castle Ruins, a historical site that was once a significant feudal stronghold. Wander around the ruins, imagining the grandeur of the past and learning about Fukuoka's history.

Then, head to Yanagibashi Rengo Market, a bustling local market. You can explore various stalls selling fresh seafood, local fruits, and delicious street food, experiencing the vibrant local life.

After that, make your way to Uminonakamachi Seaside. Enjoy the sea breeze, walk along the beach, and soak in the beautiful coastal scenery.

Day 4  Fukuoka to Yanagawa to Dazaifu to Fukuoka

Embark on a peaceful journey on the Yanagawa River Boat. As you glide along the gentle current, you'll be treated to the charming scenery of traditional Japanese houses lining the banks. The slow - paced ride offers a unique perspective of the waterways, allowing you to soak in the tranquility of the region. It's a wonderful way to experience the local charm and the beauty of the natural landscape.

Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine is a renowned Shinto shrine dedicated to the god of learning. Surrounded by lush plum trees, especially lovely during the blooming season, the shrine exudes a serene and spiritual atmosphere. Pay a visit here, stroll through the grounds, and offer a prayer for academic achievements. It's not only a place of worship but also a cultural landmark rich in history and tradition.

Day 5  Departure from Fukuoka
