Haedong Yonggungsa Temple

Haedong Yonggungsa Temple is located on the east coast of Busan and was founded in 1376. It is the only temple in South Korea situated by the sea, and the surrounding scenery is extremely beautiful.

The most distinctive features of Yonggungsa Temple are the 108 steps and the Sunrise Rock. To reach the temple from the entrance, one must descend 108 steps, and the Sunrise Rock is located in the middle of these steps. Standing on the rock, one can hear the sound of the waves crashing against the cliffs and enjoy the magnificent view of the sunrise.
