Hokusei no Oka Observatory Park

Hokusei no Oka Observatory Park is located in the town of Biei, Furano, covering an area of 5 hectares. The park not only features a lavender garden but also sunflower fields. The pyramid-shaped observation platform is particularly eye-catching. Standing on this platform, visitors can enjoy a wide and unobstructed view, with the undulating fields of Furano stretching out to the distant Daisetsuzan Mountains.

The early summer is the best time to visit, when the lily of the valley is in full bloom, and the undulating hills are dressed in a colorful coat. On a clear day, white clouds rest on the peak of Mount Tokachi ( Daisetsuzan ), creating a peaceful and idyllic scene. Besides walking, visitors can also rent bicycles to leisurely ride around and enjoy the scenery of the park.
