Mt.Wakakusa

Wakakusa Mountain is located within Nara Park, with the famous Todaiji Temple and Kasuga Taisha Shrine at its foot. Standing at 342 meters above sea level, the mountain is covered with vast stretches of green grass. From the summit, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the entire Nara Basin. If you wish to temporarily escape the crowds and deer in Nara Park, after visiting Todaiji Temple and Kasuga Taisha Shrine, head to Wakakusa Mountain to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere among the green slopes and the leisurely grazing deer.

Wakakusa Mountain is only accessible from March to June and September to November each year. During the cherry blossom season in spring, the mountain offers a breathtaking view of the city filled with blooming cherry blossoms, brimming with vitality. In autumn, Nara transforms into a golden and red wonderland, and the setting sun paints a picture of extraordinary beauty.
