Nakamise Shopping Street

Nakamise Shopping Street is located in front of Sendoji Temple and is a 300-meter-long approach road from the gate called Kaminarimon to the main hall of Sensoji Temple. There are dozens of shops lining both sides of the street, and it's one of the oldest commercial streets in Japan. It is said that many of these shops are over 100 years old and have a long history of fame.

These shops mainly sell offerings, Edo-era toys, souvenirs, various specialty snacks, and local specialties. The crowds of people coming to pray and have fun are bustling, adding to the diverse products, making it a lively and unique scene that is quite different from the solemn atmosphere of other temples, and this is a very distinctive scenery with Japanese ethnic characteristics.
