Mount Fuji climbing route: Yoshida Trail

There are four climbing routes on Mt. Fuji: Yoshida Trail, Subashiri Trail, Gotemba Trail and Fujinomiya Trail. In general, the Yoshida Trail is the preferred route chosen by most climbers.

Yoshida Trail departs from the Fuji-Subaru Line 5th Station and joins the ascending trails of Yoshida Trail Ent. at the 6th Station. This is a trail to head to the summit from the north side of Mt. Fuji on the Yamanashi Prefecture side.

The trail entrance in Mt. Fuji 5th Station is closed to private vehicles during the climb period. Take a bus from Tokyo Shinjuku Station to Mount Fuji 5th Station in about 3 hours.

On June 30, 2024, according to Japan's Asahi Shimbun, the rules for climbing Mount Fuji from the Yamanashi side will change greatly from July 1, the opening day of the mountain. Specifically, it includes setting up climbing gates, charging fees for main climbing routes, and limiting the number of climbers.
