Museum of Japanese Houses

Museum of Japanese Houses is a museum of folk houses that conveys the lives of people from all over Japan in contemporary times. It is located in Hattori Ryokuchi Park in Toyonaka City, Osaka Prefecture, and is Japan's first open-air museum. Within a 36,000-square-meter area, more than ten folk houses have been relocated here, including the important tangible folk cultural property "Hida Shirakawa Folk House", as well as the Shinano Akiyama Folk House and rice storage houses from modern Japanese houses and Dojima in Osaka. The interiors display various furniture and daily utensils.

This open-air museum, which has few visitors, is a must-visit place if you are interested in traditional Japanese architecture.
